  1. I'm Italian and I am a student.Yes lots of kids smoke in Italy(even 12 year olds)but they absolutely can't smoke in class it's forbidden.some teachers(especially in the South)dn't care of what the students are doing they just want 2 have a lesson with people that smoke or not...

  2. The italians have a new law about smoking in public buildings and most schools do not allow it but I'm sure there is some school somewhere that it happened at.

  3. no, no

italy is like california about smoking!

    is proibited everywhere!

and I like it..help me to stop smoking

  4. Students are not allowed and have never been allowed to smoke in Italian class rooms. I do know that some teachers may have smoked a cigarette in the class room (in front of the students) maybe 20 or 30 years ago but not anymore.

  5. We smoke everiting-everywhere !!!!

In my classroom 20 people of 24 smoke during the pause .......... the most smoke fast 20 cigaret(o come si dice ) in a day

  6. The laws says it's forbidden. The people smoking and the responsible of the rules maintenance in school should be fined if this should not be observed properly.

Of course since people in Italy has little social sense youngsters just act as if the laws were made just to bother your daily life - the scary part is when you see an adult stay totally passive to such behaviour. Where's the point of calling a school an "educational place" then?

  7. I am Italian from Naples.

In my country smoking is not allowed in any public place... So schools I am afraid they follow under this category.

Having said this, a lot of students they smoke in toilets when not controlled, but it depends by the management of the school if they are very strictly or not.

But is law  of the country that smoking in public places is a criminal offense and you can report the behavior if you are witnessing this.

I agree with you teachers and the school personnel should be more aware of their responsibilities and deal with the people not conforming to the rules in a more strictly way, but I am afraid many people in Italy are underpaid and not properly trained and they don't really bother about what their real job is all about.

    Welcome in the Belpaese.
