Is smoking allowed in US universities?

I am a female student hoping to come to US for higher education. I'm quite a heavy smoker and i would like to know whether smoking is allowed iinside colleges/universities.

  1. I do not know about the the other two answer's experiences but it is certainly not the case for some universities.

    Universities set their own policy regarding smoking, some are mandated because of state law. Here in Denver, like most of the world, it is illegal to smoke inside any public building, although the downtown campuses of CCD, Metro and CU-Denver, smoking is permitted on-campus, but not inside or within 15-20ft of buildings.

    But remember, what applies to one university or in what state, may not apply to all universities or all states.


  2. Quit smoking as soon as possible. It is not only prohibited in educational institutions but even on roads/stores/malls everywhere.

    Be more conscious about your health and others too.

  3. No, smoking is not allowed on any school campus and there is sometimes a rule about smoking within 100ft of a school campus.  Good time to quit!!
