Is smoking illegal for minors in paris france?

very paradoxical situation.

You can smoke if you're 16, but you can't buy cigarettes.......

I guess it could considered as the french cultural exception.....

Found this; hope it helps. I think it's one of those paradoxes wherein there's a gap between the severity of the law and how seriously it's applied, but then I haven't lived in France in 6 years and am not a pothead.

In a way it is, because you can't buy cigarettes if your under 16 !!!!!
