Is smoking weed a sin?

Yeah, right up there with making love to yourself and excessive chocolate consumption.  And yes, by the way, the Bible does say something just like that and goes on to speak about the leaves and plants and parts of plants to be used for medicine and healing.  I'm willing to admit that some of the sloth and laziness that occurs as a result of smoking too much weed might be a sin, but I challenge ANYONE to show me where smoking weed is precluded or called a sin in the good Book.  There's whole sections where harlotry and drunkenness are railed against, but I can't seem to find a single sentence that speaks out against cannabis.

ask it there, and I'll tell you no, sin is concept that claims a deity has decided what our morals are, and is willing to punish us forever if we disobey the deity.  Since my name is Skep-doc., you can guess my opinion on that one too.

herbs* first of all... and second of all... in the bible and the torah is mentions nature alot and plants... and since god put marijuana on this earth... its not a sin to smoke.. or else god would be committing a sin by providing us with it

yes i think it is a sin because u r numbing the feelings god gave u.and if u take one hit,i guess not that abd,but it is a sin to over indulge in anything

My perception is that 'weed' was created for medicinal uses.  Using a medicine for recreation definitely seems to me to qualify as a sin.
