When you fall, it shouldn't hurt because snow is soft. I've never seen snow. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  1. No, it just takes practice.

If you're optimistic and excited about learning (and aren't scared of falling) then you'll pick it up right away.

    Good luck!

  2. no it is really easy to lear.

    you have never seen snow

  3. The first time i got on a snowboard it only took me like 6 hours to get good enough on it to look good doing it. Its loads of fun

  4. If you've got good balance, and you're limber and don't mind falling over a lot while you learn, it may not be too bad.  If you rode a skateboard a lot, you'd probably have the balance to pick this up fairly quickly.

But I tried it when I was almost 50, and spent half the time on the ground on the bunny hill.  After several hours, I finally decided that I would have more fun on skis.

  5. The learning curve is about 5 to 8 hrs. You should be looking good and having a great time by then. try doing it while under the influence and it will go much faster just dont get hammered and try it.

  6. nope ill teach you to snowboard..... balance, energy, warmth, practice, oh and leard to control your legs when they are straped in the board..... off you go..... next

  7. You will have a hard time at 1st.  It take time for it to become fun.  I hated riding when I 1st started.  Always falling and having to get back up.  Always sore the next day...  Once you get it, it's super fun.

The best advice I can give, once you are out there, no matter how many times you fall you have to keep going.  If you have someone teaching you they will not want someone who falls once and gets upset and sits there.  It’s a tough sport so you have to be tough too.

Snow is not typically soft.  The stuff you will be starting on will be groomed hard pack snow.  Riding the fluffy stuff takes a little more skill.

In relation to asphalt snow is softer.  But, the concussion I got last week slamming my face into the landing of a jump just proved again to me that snow is hard and it can hurt. :)

Just be prepared and be tough.

  8. yes and you get all beat up...bruises bumps your first like 10 times...unless you know how to skateboard !
