  1. In the uk they call this 'benefits', and believe me over half the people who claim could go and get work and support themselves but its a bit too easy not to. If you have a child you have the key to a work free life! Most of the people I know live like this so I can asure you its true. I myself work full time and am proud to do so. It is sad because those who need the help do not always get it, I hope the benefits system stays around, but it needs adjusting so those honest people get the help they deserve, and those who s***w the system get caught! I dont believe they would scrap the system ever. Taxes will just keep increasing!

  2. Most Americans on this site seem to hate "social security",

especially benefits paid to people who have nothing..

What makes a country great is how it cares for its weakest people......................but don't forget that many social security benefits are universal, by which I mean that they are paid to; or used by every one.

I believe that there are so many tight regulations on welfare benefits that very few people can abuse the natural rights they have to a subsistence pension.

Every one deserves a chance and there will always be a necessity for social security.
