Lets say you were brought up in a horribly traumatic home and have had a horribly traumatic life and you have had some injuries that prevent you from having s*x

Is it safe to say this person is a lost cause?

  1. Absolutely not. All those things happened to me and with a combination of years of therapy and medication I am now FINALLY happy and functioning. It is amazing. It was like waking up from the dead. I don't have to take medicine any more and I only see my therapist occasionally.

Hang in there! Seek help, because it IS possible!

  2. With all the advances in medicine today, no one is a lost cause. It is possible that a person can suffer from depression their whole life but that doesn't mean that counseling and medication wouldn't help. They may always need medication in order to function properly but they don't have to suffer hopelessly their entire life.

  3. Nobody is a lost cause.  Try to help this person get some therapy, if you are they can't afford it then try to find a support group in your area.  A doctor might be able to find help as well.

  4. No one is a lost cause...NO ONE.

Mental illness can absolutely be debilitating but there are wonderful people who love and care and encourage individuals who are suffering.

I've had major depression my entire life...although the depression may never subside, I find relief through the people who love and care about me. I am not a lost cause just because I have an illness...and no one should ever feel that they are.

    There is always hope.
