I am planning on taking a vocational course on CNC machinist.

Is it suitable for someone petite?

Female

5'

95 lbs

What is the chance of getting hire for someone petite? Does the job require lifting?

Or I should take other courses?

I enjoy working with machine or things more than people.

  1. you should have no problem, most of the time they just stand around and wait for the machine

  2. yes, as long as you use your body correctly to avoid strain.

  3. The job will require lifting if you are changing from vises and fixtures. You may get some looks from potential employers based on your appearance. Not a lot of petite women go into that line of work. If you show them you can do the job and have the knowledge, you should have no problem.
