  1. No, it isnt.  The quick, simple answer is there is no actual scientific theory or evidence that anything unusual is going to happen in 2012. It is a collection of myths and disproven theories being promulgated by doomsday predictors, who predict a new one every few years. The longer explanation is below:

It is based on the end the current cycle of the Mayan long count calendar. No doomsday was predicted and the Mayan civilization died out.

Niburu (Planet X) doesn't exist. Zecharia Sitchin is an author of books promoting the ancient astronaut theory for human origins. He attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Annunaki (or Nephilim) from a hypothetical planet named Nibiru in the solar system. The Doomsayers predicted that it was to hit Earth in 2003. When it didn't show up, they just moved it out to 2012 to coincide with the end of the Mayan calendar.

Galactic Alignment - takes 36 years to precess through galactic equator, we will be 6 degrees off in 2012.

Asteroid Apophis - the 2001 alert was for 2029, and was canceled after additional observations showed it would not hit us.

Polar Shift - the magnetic poles are moving all the time. Polar reversal happens over thousands of years.

Passage through a "photon belt" has been added. This is also untrue and wouldn't hurt us if it were. Photons are merely units of light.

  2. according to the mayan calendar the world will end, but that is wrong because the mayan calendar didnt predict the end of the world...just a new period in time and space.

  3. no its just the end of the masons calender the calender made like a 5000 something year circle and it stops next on december 21 2012. sence it stops on this date and they didnt creat a calander after then is because they dont even exsist any more and this starts all kind of religuse disputes and fright nothings gonna happen its just the end of calande rthat doesnt have another calender after it because they died its that simple dont let the history channel and crazed money makers fool u into believing and watching ther programs they just want ur money hope this helps and u can sleep easy tonight

  4. NO!!! NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!

WILL PEOPLE PLEASE STOP ASKING ABOUT THIS c**p!!!

  5. no.  not true.

If there was to be a planet passing close to Earth in the next few years, it would already be visible in binoculars.

There are millions of amateur astronomers and, believe it or not, some of them do not work for the US government and, therefore, are not part of the "conspiracy".

The only people who "see" this planet are people with books (and videos) to sell about the "end-of-the-world".

  6. no what they are saying is happening is that the sun is acting up and sending out irregular sun flares so the earth is going to go through so extream weather.

i beleave in shycics and silvia brown said this woman was going to meet her soul mate in 10 years long time i know so dont worry we will be living then

  7. lets wait and watch

  8. I think that would be an excellent time to be sure you had trusted the Lord as your personal savior.

  9. Just the regular jazz that's going on right now.

  10. There are several predictions for 2012.  12/12/12 is numerology on the Gregorian calendar.  2012 is the end of the current Mayan calendar cycle.  The world didn't end after 1999, it flipped over to 2000.  And it didn't end at the end of 2000, we started the 3rd millennium.

If Nibiru, or planet x, is as described, then i should be able to see it with my back yard telescope.  There are over a million amateur astronomers, and several sensitive sky surveys.  Nibiru would have shown up.  It hasn't.

The grand alignment in 2012 isn't a particularly rare planetary alignment.  I've survived better.

In 2013, the year 2012 will be known as the year the world didn't end.  It will not be an unusual year in that regard.  Predictions of the end of the world have come and gone with absurd regularity.

Here's a prediction of the end of the world that will happen: "The world will eventually end." You heard it first here.  I'd like to witness it from a safe distance, since i expect it will take billions of years.

  11. could do ... could do ...

if only we knew what planet x was

most say it was a rumour, but rumour usually comes from manipulated facts, so you could say there must have been fact there to start with in order for a rumour to grow

we might well 'discover' such a planet before then

and even if we don't - it doesn't stop such a planet passing earth's orbit undetected, however unlikely, does it!

Truly philosophical and wise question, me thinks =]

  12. Yes. We'll be celebrating New Years Eve on Dec 31, 2012 then watching football the next day.

  13. When Londoners get the final bill for the Olympics they just might try and jump on board that passing planet x

  14. on 12/12/12 people are gonna be tearing up all the towns over mythical myths :)

  15. nah the olympics in london

  16. yeah the Olympics.

  17. yes and i will be having a birthday that year too.

  18. i really hope not.

i heard something about crystal skulls?

that kinda stuff scares me, so i try not to touch that subject to often. last time, i had nightmares!!

  19. no cause by  2012 it will be something eles it didnt happen in Y2K so what makes them think its gonna happen now.

  20. planet x is rubbish.

we cant see planet x... so  there's only 2 possible explanations:

    1) it came thru this way before... but it COULD NOT POSSIBLY have, as the orbits of the planets would have been disturbed... the orbit of Venus is d**n near a perfect circle

    2) some fool dreamed the whole thing up.  Now, far be it for me to poo-poo ESP, but this hardly seems like good evidence, don't you think?

  21. Apparently Zorg is going to come to Earth to release his children from bondage at that time too, what a coincidence.

  22. No; absolutely nothing will happend in 2012. You'll go to bed on New Year's Eve, 2011 and wake up on Jan 1, 2013. If you search every data base on Earth, you'll find no mention of anything with a 2012 date.
