Question:

Is something wrong with all the blu-ray discs of Jumper?

Anyone else have this problem? We have an Aquos BD player (thats what it says on it), any other blu-ray disc works perfectly except when we tried to play Jumper. The preview things play, but when it gets to the actual movie, the screen gets all distorted and the sound works fine but the picture stalls and comes up in bars. We have tried 4 different Jumper blu-rays and they all do the same thing.

  1. Apparently you are not alone.  See the link re Sharp coming up with a firmware update to address the problem.  The origin of the problem is a new version of BD+ and AACS (DRM to prevent copying) on the Jumper disk.

BTW, it took Slysoft all of 4 days to beat the new DRM mechanisms so their AnyDVD software could continue to copy Blu-ray disks.  In the meantime consumers ((and player manufacturers who have to release firmware updates) are the ones who suffer. Consumers should refuse to buy Blu-ray given the heavy DRM overhead.
