  1. She sounds either completely blind or close to that. Go to your vet to make sure, although there's not much you can do for a blind guinea pig. If blindness is her only problem, that doesn't necessarily mean she'll die or anything like that unless there's another problem along side the sight-problems.

  2. she may be blind. But take her to the vet! But I am wondering if her teeth are overgrown, which they might!

    Hope your piggy is OK!

  3. it seema like your guinea pig is just shy if you just got her she might not be ready to eat out of your hand or even eat in front of you if did not just get her you might want to get her checked out

  4. i have 3 guinea pigs and they all do the same and i had alot of them in the past but you have to put a little house in there like a small box they are very scared and they need some were to hide they love to hide=) i love guinea pigs♥  she needs a place to burro they need a little house are its like you going out side and just living with out a house=( so that will help i promise they dont ALWAYS eat they need time to have fun and play and do other things just do that and that will really help i promise, God bless<><~~~~<><~~~<><

  5. Sounds that way. Maybe you should take her to a vet to get checked out

  6. check her teeth. she may have broken one or depending on how old she is they may have rotted out. When my guinea pig Angel got old I never knew she was sick bc they hide it so well but I went to pick her up and she was skinny when she had been fat a few days before. She wasnt eating and i looked at her teeth and in a matter of a couple days they had turned blackish and were short and stubby. The vet said that thats how it happens with piggies. One week theyre fine and the next...not so much. There was nothing they could do so I pureed fruits and veggies and gave her that and water thru a needle-less syringe. I managed to get a bit of weight back on her and keep her hydrated (a 24 hour job) but she died a week later anyways. Dont be fooled by her activity level- Angel was MORE hyper and social for the week before she died, even jumping out of her cage to come see me when I brought her food, which she had never done before. Its their defense mechanism bc in the wild if theyre sick they got left behind by the group so they'l hide it till they seize. The last thing most guinea pigs ever do is have a seizure. Im sorry for your piggy and I hope she gets better, but if shes old....well Im sorry. OH and dont take her to an emergency vet unless as a last resort. If you do, ask for documentaton of everything they do including exact medicine dosages and tell them if anything happens to the piggy you're going to take it to your normal vet and see if they did anything wrong. They killed Angel's sister Callie with an antibiotic overdose when she had an infection.

  7. My guinea pig was the same way but my mom, dad, and sister all said he was us temid (shy or scared) try being more interactive.

  8. I know what's wrong with her! She's a large rat with a brain the size of a peanut....that may have something to do with it.

  9. while i was reading ur question before u said is she blind or something.....i was thickin she was blind....i suggest that u take her to the vet to get her eyes examed cuz if its not her eyes it has to be somethin else.....unless ur guinea pig is in his/her old days.....i hope i could help!!

  10. sound like it take her to your local vet

  11. i have a few guinea pigs and thats just what guinea pigs do. its just how they are. your piggy is fine but check up at the vet would'nt hurt.

  14. There is something seriously wrong - vets - guinea pigs are vicious munching machines. Food is always the number one idicator of a problem.

  17. no if they sqeak it means there happy!! and a lot of guinea pig just cant find there food really fast so you should put it right in front of her and also they dont really like to eat in front of people they like to go somewhere they cant really be seen and eat
