the only thing he will be playing will be the waiting game. waiting for his bulldogs contract to end in 4 an a half years if the courts agree with the dogs and take out an injuction on him so he cannot play any code anywhere till then.

I don't think he has left to go play union in France. He still has 3 years to go on his contract.

He just can't pick up his bags and leave! He has to complete his contract with the Bulldogs before he could look for something else to do.

He is the best rugby league player in history so why would he play union?

The Bulldog's problem is going to be that if SBW is directed by th court to return to the Bulldogs, they can' make him play. This then means that $400,000 plus of their salary cap is tied up with a player on the sidelines. The NRL will not give the Dogs an exemption if SBW decides to sit on the sideline for the remainder of is contract.

For the Dogs the only way out for them is to have SBW pay some form of fine (massive) to the Dogs to allow SBW to leave. Don't know how this would work, though.

Yes...he has..well that's what has been reported...you've got to wonder what's going on his head..he's still under contract to the doggies....they won't release him so I can't see how he's going to be able to play.....

yes its true he left the country but legally he isnt allowed to play newer on earth cus the dogz have LOCKED him in a 2 year contract

They say he left today to play overseas but he is under contract here - so all the legal people are in on it now!!!

You can't just up and go when you're with an established club.

He is a disgrace to his team and the NRL and I hope he won't play anyplace again.

Yes, it was announced today when i was watching the Canberra Raiders vs the Gold Coast Titans.... Go the Raiders!!!!!!! XD.....

They announced that he will be boarding the plane to go over to France to play in one of there Rugby Union sides very shortly so he is probly on the plane right now. Might i add that the Bulldogs are having a terrible season and this will only make it worse. Also Sonny Bill will get in alot of trouble for this of the Canterbury Club

He's bolted for France! Sad to see an act; borders on immoral. However RL in Australia needs to be practical about this. SBW has an Australian contract with the Bulldogs and is registered with NRL. He's going to Rugby Union in France.  

The problem is that to take legal action is going to be very long and very expensive and not guaranteed to suceed.  It's not something the Bulldogs or the NRL would want to do lightly.  My guess the best thing is for the NRL to persuade IRB stop his registration but then I suspect he would just move on to Japan or other places.
