why waste your money?  

shimano makes a wide range or fishing reels from

$ to $$ to $$$   you should be able to pick one up reasonably priced - then pick up an ugly stick and some Stren and you're ready to fish...

  That would be a good intermmediate rig just make sure you get a reel that can support the size line you need for whatever fish you plan on catching...

4-8  trout or bluegill

8-12 for catfish or bass
