Is south park unethical?

i have had comments about my screen name.... i like south park but i am a christian. is it wrong for a christian to like south park given that it is mostly blasphemous.

No, of course not. It's just a cartoon, and it's only humour.  It shows that unlike a lot of people you are capable of laughing at yourself but at the same time keep your beliefs:)

Some people take things like this so seriously that they squeeze all the joy out of themselves and their religion:)

i watch south park and family guy I love them.. I am very active in my church and dont tell anyone but our pastor likes them too,, they are just funny

SouthPark is hillarious. Ethics are irrelevant, taste is irrelevent, content is irrelevant.

No subject has the right to be above comedy, Its only justification is that it should be funny.

To laugh at something that is socially taboo, or too painful, or too awful or frightening to deal with head on, is often the first step to seriously dealing with such subjects. Thats why there are so many 9/11 Jokes, or Gary Glitter Jokes,or jokes involvingUnusual Sexual peccadillos.

Its a kind of Pscho/Social healing process process for things like wars and Death, and we certainly need it.

Personal opinion....yeah I think it's wrong to WATCH South Park. If you like it and find it funny, that's human nature but to waste your brain cells on it is stupid IMO. I wouldn't call it a sin but there certainly are more uplifting things to do with your time.

South Park is like the Simpsons - it makes fun of d**n near everybody and those who are easily offended should go watch Hannah Montana or something instead.

It's a good show. Christians should be able to watch it. One of the main characters with the most morals (Stan, of course, the other 'good' character being Kyle) is Christian.

Besides...if God exists, he must have a sense of humor. How else do you explain the duck-billed platypus? And surely he wouldn't mind you having a laugh.

How can you not like south park? it's the one show that tells you exactly how people think and shows the real attitudes people have.

It's not blasphemous really, it just uses religion and other subjects to make people laugh and what's wrong with making people laugh?

I just think religion puts to many restrictions on people who take it seriously.

mate, i know a jehovahs witness who's really into iron maiden so i think your worries are groundless.

i read an interesting book recently,the gospel according to the simpsons,and it reckoned there are a lot of christian values in that show.it was well worth reading and i enjoyed it.

South Park is very funny.  THey have JESUS CHRIST as a character.  How can that be unethical?  JESUS CHRIST is unethical? I doubt even Christians believe that.

I think South Park believes in equal opportunity "bashing". It's supposed to be cynical comedy. I find it quite humorous.

never mind south park,  south park reflects on society whicn in turn is un-ethical, stubborn, selfish, greedy and blasphemous.

Society itself is a model which has failed to abide by the 10 commandments so ease up on the show, South Park hasn't offended anything or anybody.

Sometimes you just have to make fun of life, and the people in it.  God has a sense of humour too,  look at Canada and Celine Dion for example. Infact,  Its un-ethical to blast Celine Dion tracks in your car I believe.   I hate all her songs, and I can't stand that Leona Lewis either.

To be completely honest, I don't think it is unethical.  It may be inappropriate for children, but that doesn't mean it's worthless.

Personally, I think there really is no other show that's as insightful and dead-on with its commentary and perspectives.  They berate everyone equally.
