Is soy milk supposed to have chunks of soy

I have plain soy milk that seems to have little chunks of soy in it. It's not expired or anything, and it tastes fine. Is it supposed to be like that? It's Kirkland brand from Costco, and it's the kind where you don't have to refrigerate until after opening.

  1. That sometimes happens if soy milk has been frozen and thawed out.. it doesn't spoil that way though.   Sounds like you got the fortified stuff.  Some fortified chemicals don't dissolve well in soy milk!  Soy cream sometimes has chunks of cream in it!   Avoid the fortified stuff as it really isn't healthy cause it's man made.. natural is best!

  2. Its not supposed to be chunky. I wouldn't buy that brand again.

  3. It's probably not the soy but the added inorganic calcium that they fortify most soy milk with. I think it's very bad for the body and try to buy unfortified soy milk as often as I can! It's like chalk!

  4. Try silk. It's so much better

  5. No, but those that are packaged in the Tetrapaks (cardboard shelf stable package) sit on the shelves for a long time and the sediment settles on the bottom.  It's still good.  If it's fresh soymilk, then it's going bad - starting to curdle.
