  1. Spain was discovered by Sir Walter Spain in 1768, conquered by the Guatemalans in 1835 and lost to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts over a Connect Four match during the 70's.

Mexico, however, has always remained a part of the State of Luisiana, except for a couple of months during the Middle Ages, when Mexicans and Lousisanans couldn't agree on where Spain was on the US map.

Please send my regards to your frend (sic) as well as the State Board of Education.

  2. mexico is to our south and spain is across the ocean.  they both speak a language called spanish but the two are very different.

  3. no,they are completly different

  4. omg - no they are two totally diff. countries!

  5. No, thanks God NO!

  6. Your freind is retarted. I cant believe anybody can be that stupid.Wow!!

  7. Spain is a constitutional monarchy in Europe, Mexico is a federal republic in the Americas. Spanish is the given language in both countries. I also have to ask if you are learning world geography in school?

  8. Well I have numerous mecian friends and believe me they are very different. Mexicans have man different dishes of food and are cultuyrally and ethnically different then Spainish people. (But both countries people are very s**y.)

Mexicans really are a mix of Spanish people and the native Americans of the south west. (Don't mix them with the United States americans Indians, or the Canadian inuits)

  9. No, Spain and Mexico are two distinct countries.

  10. Ouch...words fail me. Anyway.

Spain is to Mexico what Britain is to the USA, more or less.  Spain conquered Mexico from the Aztecs, Mayans and other Indian civilizations, and they settled there and intermarried with the natives.  Later Mexico became independent from Spain, just like we became independent from Britain.

Most Mexicans are a mix of Spanish and Indian, although some are pure Indian and others are pure Spanish.  Most Mexicans speak Spanish although a few still speak ancient Indian languages.  Mexicans got their language, religion and a lot of their culture from Spain, but they're still very different countries.  For example tortillas and jalapenos are not Spain- they came from the Indians.

  11. No, ones on the North American continent and the other is in Europe.

  12. No, they are completely different countries.  Spain colonialized Mexico which is why Spanish is spoken there.

  13. No, they are two entirely different countries. Just like the US and England are different though we all speak English. (BTW what do you do in school if you're not learning this stuff?)

  14. Is Canada and the US the same?  Is Australia and England the same?  They all speak English.   No, they are not the same.  One is in Latin America and the other is in Europe.  They have 2 different cultures.   Their national cuisines are totally different.  The only thing they have in common is that they both speak Spanish, even though the Spanish they speak is not the same.  How old is your friend???

Uli B, Don't be such a freaking racist!  Both countries have good and bad qualities.  I bet you've never even been to Spain.

  15. it's like Americans being the same as the English.  we have some things in common, but don't really speak the same language or have all the same customs.  Mexicans have Spanish ancestors, but also have Indian ancestors.  the Mexican language isn't exactly Spanish, although it's very similar.  it's more of a dialect, like American is a dialect of English.

  16. No.Spain is full of Spaniards, Mexico is full of Mexicans(Except for the ones that jumped the fence into America).

  17. no they might speak same language but they are in total different locations,
