1. According to Mary Poppins, the word is an adjective that means great, good, excellent, and just about any possible positive adjective.

It is not a real word though. Please see below for the etymology:

    Etymology

A memorable ficticious word from the movie Mary Poppins (Walt Disney Studios, released 1964), and also the title from a song in the movie. It is not a real word, as the creator of the word simply created it for purpose of use in the movie.

  2. It was coined in a song in Mary Poppins, but it doesn't mean anything.

  3. It is... Even though the sound of it is really quite atrocious.

  4. It certainly is a real word and is well-known, although it won't be found in a standard dictionary and it has no 'real' meaning.
