It is coming from Europe, I don't think European food is considered "ethnic". But since Spain is an hispanic nation, and because hispanic cultures are considered exotic or ethnic by many... I ask myself the question?

  1. I don't know about "Spanish" food, but here in So Cal, Mexican food isn't considered "ethnic"

Here we consider it a necessity, at LEAST once a week.......

  2. Yes, each & every ethnic group.

  3. I think so, Since it comes from another country and different race.

  4. yes it is.

  5. yes it is

  6. Spain is a hispanic nation??????

Are you sure?Maybe  its  in europe?

Do you know where spain is?

Do you understand that spanish people are not little brown people that (speak spanish) and jump the mexican border.

Spanish people live in SPAIN .

  7. I think that's why they call it Spanish !!!!or else they would call it American!!!!

  8. Probably some of the lesser known things or things most identified as 'Spanish' might be considered ethnic.

    Paella, Tapas Bars, etc.

San Diego, CA has a number of Spanish restaurants that try to immerse people in a 'Spanish' experience (not Mexican).

I think Spanish food is as ethnic as Italian or Greek or any other Mediterranean cuisine...though many Spanish dishes have actually become quite 'American Standard' as far as food is concerned. For instance, a popular typical Spanish dish is marinated and grilled steak...a practice the Spanish have perfected for generations and one of many food preparations that have become part of the Western Culture in the United States.

  9. No, it's considered foriegn but mexican is ethnic because it's really referring to mexican-american. In the same way African american food is ethnic but African is foriegn. Just my theory which I made up this moment :) Or alternately all food is ethnic.

  10. i would say yes that in the united states that spanish food is called ethnic food. yet anything thats in america is virtually ethnic food!

  11. yes it is, at least as far as I know. Most people also refer to German, Italian, Polish, Greek etc as ethnic food.

On the other hand, if you really think about it, every food is ethnic.
