  1. No not at all. My son has been on stages 2 since shorty after he started stage 1's. Most of them are not much thicker at all, and there are no pieces.  Some of the dinners can be a little thicker though,  and if you think it's too much for him you can just whip it up with the little spoon and they become more pureed. Good luck!

  2. Stage 2 is not to early for your baby. However, make sure to watch her very closely with chunkier food to make sure she does not choke. Introduce only 1 food every 3 days to make sure she has no allergic reactions. Also if she doesn't seem to like some foods, do not force her to eat it, instead wait a month and try again. Trying to get her to eat the same food over and over again, when she doesn't want to, can turn her off of that certain type of food forever. Good luck!

  3. Nope just make sure you only introduce one each week to make sure she isn't allergic

  4. It's fine.  Stage 2 is not thicker/lumpier that stage 1, it's just more food in the jar.

  5. Technically 5 1/2 months is a bit too early for ANY babyfood (solids are normally started at 6 months).

But if she's been eating solids and does well with them, she can have any food she is capable of eating.  At 5 1/2 months this might be any of the three 'stages' of babyfood, pureed home-made foods or, if she's able to pick them up (she's probably not there quite yet) soft table foods.

"Stages" are just gimmicks. Some parents start with stage 2 or 3 -- or never give babyfood at all.
