Is stained glass still popular?? Reason I am asking is beause I was watching this commerical

and this guys goes....the 70's are out...and 2008 is in. He took this stained glass lamp top and threw it down and put another lamp shade up. So it made me wonder if stained glass in out dated?? I think it beautiful.

I think it is beautiful as well. I would love to have a stained glass lamp. We can't afford such extravagant things though.

That's the Ruby Tuesday's commercial.  I think what he was doing was showing that Tuesday's is becoming more modern, so he switched out a tiffany-style lamp for a more 'hip' one.  Seems that it's still popular, but it was used in this particular commercial to represent something out-of-date.

No, stained glass will never be out. It's expensive to have something custom made. Home Depot has a lot of exterior  doors with clear leaded glass inserts. Stained glass lamps will never go out of style, but you may tire of the look and want a change.
