  1. No, a stalemate is a draw.  In fact, it is one of several different types of draws.

Note:  A stalemate is a draw, but not all draws are stalemates!

A stalemate occurs when the side to move is NOT in check, but then only moves they have left will put them in check.  If this occurs, the game is immediately over, and neither sides wins nor loses.

  2. its a draw

you certainly choked that one up buddy.  if you couldnt close it out with a king and queen vs a lone king thats sad

  3. a stalemate is a TIE- though you can certainly checkmate your opponent with just a queen and your king...

  4. No it is a tie. Even match-no winner-no loser

  5. a stalemate is when you agree to call it a draw

  6. It is a draw.  You don't "agree" to it, it simply happens when noone can be put in "check".

  7. It is not a win or a loss.

  8. ☻

  9. A stalemate is a draw... in series of games it counts as half a win for each player.

  10. To clear up the confusion...

Stalemate: The person who's turn it is has no legal moves, but is NOT in check.

    Draw: A tie.

There are several ways a draw can occur:

    - Stalemate

    - Mutual agreement

    -Threefold repetition

    - Fifty move rule

    - Impossibility of checkmate (ex. insufficient material)

    Hope this helps.

  11. I wouldnt call it a win, but it is probably better than a loss.

  12. It is a tie - no one wins and on one loses.

  13. no it's a draw
