  1. No, but ironically and tragically the main character (River Phoenix) died when he was like 19 or 20 on a drug overdoes, and in the movie at the end it says his character died young too in a bar fight. Sad stuff.

  2. I know its a movie based on a book. It may have some elements based on personal true life accounts but it is fictional as a whole.

  3. "The Body" is Stephen King's dramatization of a childhood experience

  4. no, ”stand by Me is a 1986 adventure-drama film directed by Rob Reiner. The title comes from a song with the same title by Ben E. King (which plays during the closing credits) and is based on the novella The Body by Stephen King, who called it his favorite adaptation of one of his works up to that point”

    great movie though

  5. Yes, it is based on a true story.  The events happened in California in the late 1950s.

There was also an ugly incident in the 1980s where some punk kids were involved in the murder of another kid and kept it secret for a long time.  This news story came out about the same time the movie did.

  6. yes and no ...stephen king always used his life to draw emotions and scenes in his books ...maine is his state ...alot of his books are either set there or made with descriptions where he uses maine to paint the images ...

i had heard [a while ago] that when king was a boy a kid had found another kid dead by a river or bridge ?whether this is true i am unsure as the story changes whenever it is retold ...but with king its very possible...

  7. Yes it is
