for every contest, to be good, competative and bigger, it must be open to all. not for two teams, whatever the contest is. it may be ashes or this stanford T20.

Apparently trying to compete with the lucrative IPL, maverick Texan billionaire Allen Stanford has offered the Australian, English and Indian cricketers $ 20 million from a single Twenty20 match next year in the West Indies. So money wise it is bigger than IPL! But I think IPL will still remain the best of all tournaments.....IPL is a blockbuster!
