Is steak in freezer for 3 months , still good to eat?

  1. It should still be safe to eat, but if it has "freezer burn" (ice crystals and surface crystalization) the flavor will suffer.  When I freeze cooked steak, I first cool it to room temperature.  Then I wrap it as tightly as possible in plastic wrap.  Then wrap in aluminum foil and label the package (what it is and the date prepared).  I then put it in a zip-lock baggie and seal it, squeezing out all the air.  That stops the freezer burn.

  2. Yeah I think 3 months is fine.  I think it's even fine up to a year but may start to taste a little freezer burned after 6-9 months



  3. yes it is fine to eat. I have kept meat over a year in freezer with no problem. If by chance it would have freezer burn ( there will be a white spot if it is ) just shave it off with a knife, only problem would be lack of taste but no harm to it, but seeing only 3 months I doubt it would have any problems.
