Is steel reciclable?

i have to make an ecologic chair so i was wondering if i can use steel screws and motivate that they are reciclable

  1. Steel and iron are two of the most recyclable and recycled materials used by man. Chances are that the car  you are driving was made with recycled steel... in fact it may be on its third or fourth generation of recycling.

    The auto industry is often blamed for many of the world's ills but in the realm of recycling they have led the way.


  2. absolutely, but the point made above about finding a better connection than a s***w will make it more ecological.

    If you really want to make an eco chair, think about using previously recycled materials and/or waste materials. Then design the chair in a way that the actual pieces are the connections so you do not require screws. This type of challenge will make your chair that much better aesthetically.

  3. Steel is recyclable. It can be melted and made into some other form of object.

  4. Steel is recyclable, however you may want to consider a more ecological fastener  for your chair- the amount of energy that it takes to manufacture steel & recycle steel might make it a less ecological choice for certain construction applications.

  5. Virtually all scrap metal is recycled and has been since the 19th century.
