Is stock considered capital? Economics?

I understand that capital is an economic resource, but stocks and bonds are considered financial capital which can be used to obtain available real capital and other economic resources.

capital = money.  stock is stock, potential capital, yes, but not capital. it depends on how strict you need to be with your terms.
