Is stockade the cheapest fence?

Question

I need to put a fence around my house to prevent the dog and little one from roaming to the street.

I was told that the stockade is the cheapest and we need to get the 6ft type for better resale value of the property in the future, and also cos we have a above ground pool.

But I dont like the whole house to be surrounded completely and thinking about getting those 4ft picket fence.

I appreciate comments and advices from all of you.

If you wanted to get a six-foot fence, a plain stockade would not be pretty and would not help with house value. A nice 4 foot picket should do what you want. I personally prefer painted wood but you could do vinyl for longer life.

chicken wire is probably the cheapest fencing.... but stockade doesn't do much for re-sale and also isn't that durable over the life of the fence.

White vinyl is affordable and maintenance free
