Yes. It's the only thing that causes us to return to our creator. If we didn't suffer, we wouldn't need salvation.

Seems to be as much as we hate it.... I think yes.

Kinda like the bird hatching from the egg, if you help it it doesn't have enough strength to survive.

We learn and grow through that suffering as much as we kick and scream.

It is how whatever higher being you believe in lets us learn. You let your kids learn how to ride a bike by letting them fall off it a few times; whatever god their is lets us learn by letting us blow ourselves up with nuclear arms a few times.
