Is sugar free gum okay for braces?

i have heard that it is from multiple people and i need an answer. i love gum

  1. yes it is ok


  2. sorry, but no gum is good for braces. It loosens the brackets and you will have to get them glued back on. Plus it could get tangled around the brackets and your orthodontist can tell that you have chewed!

  3. yes it is ok to chew sugar free gum with braces. it wont stick like gum with sugar.

  5. Soft, sugarless gum is okay with braces. As with anything you eat or chew with braces, be careful. Sometimes chewing gum after an adjustment or new wire can help lessen the discomfort.
