tfp is usually reliable, unlike hockeybuzz.

i used to like sundin but now i guess pronger will have to take care of him.

BOOM

Jovanovski and Pronger are better then Lidstrom.

P.S why is the hockey section filled with un-hockey questions?

  1. I still think he's going to retire

  2. I can see the rangers doing something that stupid, they actually need rosival, not a 7 million 3rd line winger(or 5 million if drury is going to be 3rd line) there defense is redden good, but no longer no. 1 dman form, khalinin, who i hear is terrible, staal is good, and girardi is good too, and mara is alright, but loosing rosiavl makes them have to call up 2 minor league dmen, with a defensive lineup that is less than impressive,

CME- they have gomez and drury, so if not drury is going to be the 3rd line centre and hes 5mil

  3. what the heck are you talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. i think i read he wasent

  5. Well it might be comical to see the Rangers go back to their late 90's dark years style of management.

#1 I cant see Sundin taking 2 million a year.  He realizes that doing that would set a precedent for the rest of league to say well he got this so I deserve this.  THis would mostly help GM's low ball some decent players (and maybe bring some overpriced ones down to earth).  When you look at it on paper, 2 million dollars would be the equivalent of Peter Prucha and Paul Mara....come on this would be a mockery of the NHL....

With that said I do not see the Rangers giving up their youth for a 37 year old center, elite NHLer or not.  The rangers have finally gotten somewhere in the last few years with their youth movement.  Like it or not that is the direction they are going in and that is the direction they need to be going in.  That alone will give them success in the future.  To shave the cap they need to fit Sundin in would mean they would have to give up some pretty good players.  For the Rangers and their fans sake I hope they do not take this path.

Let's say he does get put on the team.  They have Chris Drury, Scott Gomez and Sundin as centers.  Which of these high paid centers is going to play on the third line? Really Drury and his oodles of money is going to be on the third line?  NOT SMART!  Then there is the issue of chemistry.  With all these new faces and big names chemistry becomes a big issue like it was in the 90's.

I hope for the Rangers sake they play it smart and stick with the youth movement.  PErsonally I wouldnt mind to see them try to buy another cup and lose and then be screwed for the next 5 years.....

    Only time will tell

P.S. Homes found out that all questions with a "&" symbol are getting suggested into the hockey category.  Those that dont check the category before submitting the question have it dumped here.

  6. The RAGS have been known to do stupid stuff like this for years. It is a possibility.

  7. According to this article, no.

  8. I suppose it is possible, but I can't see why they'd do it. They would have to dump a bunch of salary first which would be in the form of a much younger player or two. These would be players who could be around considerably longer than Sundin for less money. Who would they dump? We've seen the Rangers make a few moves in the past that have baffled everyone, but this would top the list IMO.
