Diesels will run on a variety of bio-fuels.  However, you can't just pour them all into your gas tank and expect things to work out fine.  Depending on what you're running and your local weather (varying congealing temperatures) you may need separate tanks for the fuels and some may need to be heated so that they flow properly; like fry-oil in cold weather.

There are some systems that allow for a single tank.  These are usually the most expensive kits, but there's increasing competition in this sector and it's by far the most convenient.

No, your diesel car will not run on sunflower oil.  If you try, it will ruin the engine and destroy the fuel system.  Your car might run on CME (Corn Methyl Ester) made from sunflower oil.
