or as long as you pay tax it is enough?when you are a contractor what percentage of your income has to be paid for tax?

  1. Not compulsory, unless you run under your own company and you are employed by that company.

    Here's how the government encourages you to put money into super...

    If your taxable income is $50k, you'll pay about $9k in tax.

    But if you put $50k into super for this year, that'll be subtracted from your income so you'll end up paying $0 for tax instead.  Of course, smaller contributions will get you smaller decreases in tax.

    They only just changed the super contribution limit to $50k this year, last year it was $15k or something.
