  1. I'm not sure if it's an extremely good cardio workout, but it's good for you muscles. Paddling builds arm strength, and keeping your balance and turning on your board really helps the abdomen.

  3. Totally works the body, every see any overweight surfers?  And Hawaiin's and Somoans don't count.

  4. Depends upon how far you have to paddle out and under what conditions.  It is a great upper body work out that can occasionally give you a good cardio workout as well.
