  1. surfing sucks dont try it

  2. then really go a head and do it ! i just started and each time there's always something you learn and your body adjusts the more you go , which is rule #1 YOU GOTTA GO or you won't get better... it is quite addicting once you start to see your efforts paying off and your getting wave..and becoming a ''Local" is very cool... whelther you suck or not... just be there when the chop is rolling and watch an learn...just make sure you won't drown or have a wreck... and how to do this is have a surf~buddy to watch your back for just in case... and read everything "surfing" and you will live your dream.

  3. You need a lot of upper body strengh.  It really wears out your arms if you are not in shape

  4. well i am a pro so i would know. ask a novice they ar a bunch of salty pussys anyway. dont l**k it! dont l**k it!

  5. no its very easy to learn my friends taught me in like 3 or 4 hours and now i no how to do it its so fun u should get somebody to teach you

  6. hey!! I've wanted to surf for a while now and finally this summer my brother has arranged for me to go and learn. Just find a place and time and learn. We will both get the nack of it im sure!! Lifes a beach, surf it!!

  7. Surfing requires alot and I mean alot of upper body strength and alot of patience. I suggest practicing balancing too because it gets hard to balance on a board. Surfing is a pretty hard sport to learn but it is totally worth it! There is some cool stuff on wikipedia as well that might give you a better understanding of the sport. Good luck!

  8. some people can pick it up quite fast, personally i found it challenging to put all the motions together.. if you have a weekend or so to devote yourself to it then you should be able to get the hang of it. ( no pun intended lol)

  9. Yes. When you're first starting out it's hard and frustrating. But in time you'll get the hang of it. And once you do, it's totally fun!! Try lifting weights to gain your upper body strength. Good Luck and have fun! :-)

  10. it is very hard

  11. it depends, surfing is the funnest thing you will ever learn though it maybe hard at first but its most defiantly worth it!!!!

    Go For It!

  12. Are you a very good swimmer?  Having good upper body strength and a good understanding of "water" is key.  The balance part is not that much different from learning to ride a bicycle.

Surfing is a pretty hard sport to get started at but, once you get going and catch your first "good' wave, the hardest thing is stopping!  It will be the only thing you think about.

  13. you need a lot of upper body strength but you must have patience and it takes a lot of practice

  14. Yes it's hard. Personally I think women are better at it than men though, because our centers of gravity are different. You must have patience though. It is not as easy as it looks, and you will suck for a very long time. If you can stick it out til you get up and ride, you'll be glad you did!!

  15. It's very hard, especially if you don't have a lot of upper body strength.
