  1. yes mate, surfing is for everyone, id have a few lessons to get a basic knowledge of health and safety for starters in the water.

theyll also go through paddling, standing and cathcing the wave. if u want to do it on your own, check out this website

    surfing.about.com/cs/surfinstruction/i...

some good info on starting surfing, also use this website for

checking surf conditions.its all the world.

    www.magicseaweed.com

    and go and enjoy yourself.

ps:try renting a board first to see if u like it before commiting urself.

  2. Snowboarding doesn't offer the flexibility that surfing does.

Skateboarding does however, and many people who surf like to skate and vice versa. If you like skateboarding I think you'll really enjoy surfing.

Try water skiing too if you get the chance. It's a blast!

  3. If you are good at board sports then surfing shouldn't be too hard for you to pickup and get good at.  It all depends on how much time you put in the water.  I think the skating will really help - the snowboarding... not so much.  Swimming definitely does.  Good luck!

  4. You should definitely try it.  There's nothing better.  You're with one with nature.  Your mind is completely clear.  And the feeling you get when you catch a wave - it's like being able to walk on water.  You also meet some very interesting people.

  5. There are some useful tips here.

  6. ya, i would try it out, swimming helps with ocean knowlage and if you are a good snow/skate boarder that helps too
