  1. A lot of times it is,especially at sushi bars, and it comes with quite a lot. However you can always order other things, and eat it along with it.,such as appetizers.

You can split an order of sushi with a friend and order another type of entree, like coconut crusted halibut or tai peanut stir fry, it just depends on how hungry you are..

  2. If by "one-dish meal" you mean whether you can just eat only sushi for a meal & get full, the answer is yes & obviously depending on how much you eat. Depending on the type of sushi, the number of pieces in one serving varies, average is about 2-3. So maybe 3-4 plates is sufficient, depending whether you usually eat rice as a staple or side dish. If you want more variety, order other Japanese dishes offered by the restaurant.

Yes, sushi is certainly healthy & nutritious, low in fat & calories and the freshness of ingredients means less nutrients have been lost. Although many Westerners may blanch at the thought of eating raw fish, a common topping on sushi, not cooking it means there's less nutrients destroyed by high heat.

As with any food, even healthy ones, moderation is the key. You can reach sumo wrestler proportions by gorging on sushi too, as too much rice that is not utilised by the body as energy is simply converted into fat. So eating sushi with friends is great, you get to share out the calories!

For young people in their teens, they should not be dieting to lose weight, unless they are obese. This is a critical stage of development when the body needs more nutrients & healthy food, not less of it. Denying themselves of this once in a lifetime opportunity to build the best possible health foundation & optimal growth during their adolescent stage is only doing themselves a great wrong, one which they'll regret bitterly in later years as there's no way the clock can be turned back.
