Is sweet oil good for a earache?

I work in a pharmacy and a lot of people come in looking for sweet oil because they have an earache.  People have said it works but I have never personally tried it.

I too, however, would get it checked out.  Sometimes old remedies like this one either don't work or can make things worse.  It's better to just get it taken care of the right way the first time.

If you've got a persistent infection,

don't mess about with patent nostrums.

Get it treated.

That close to the brain, it's cause for concern.
