  1. I dont think so... I have stopped swimming for a while, and I can just pick it right back up when I go to the beach.....

  2. Swimming has some similarities to riding a bike that you will remember how to do the basics, but being out of the water even a few days will set back your fitness level as a competitive swimmer.  The good thing is you can build your endurance back to where it was.

  3. Yes, it's very likely. I'm a swimmer, and I know when I go on vacation and come back, I'm slower and have lost my rhythm.

That's for competitive swimming, not leisurely like at the pool and beach.

  4. You won't forget how to swim, but you'll have to work on regaining that old stamina. It'll take a while before getting back in top form.

  5. Yes it happens I'm a competitive swimmer and i was practicing my tumbles.Id got them down to a T and then i went on a 3 week safari and when i came back i had lost my ability to perform a perfect tumble.
