Is taking a city bus dangerous?

if it is, how so?

and is the driver able to prevent anything, if something may happen?

im 13 and i usually take the bus with a friend of the same age and sometimes with a few like 17 year olds.

its to nearby places; we never go somewhere really far.

and we go at night. late, even.

It's generally pretty safe.  Just make sure you follow all normal precautions, and trust your judgment if you feel uncomfortable.

Hi, You and your friends have to be selective in what part of town has a lot of problems, that may bring you trouble.Call your local police and ask about the area you wish to travel or the bus company may tell you which area is a problem area.Some high crime areas have plainclothes  police ride the buses.Do a little research about your trips. I think that would depend on where you live- if you live in a dangerous place, taking the bus won't change that. As someone who doesn't drive and is aware of the environmental impact of owning a personal vehicle- the bus is perfectly safe- especially since you're with friends. ^_^

Yes the bus is a pretty safe method of transportation. And as long as you r with a group of friends, it will be alright. The bus drivers usually pretty nice and helpful.

usually its quite safe  to ride the bus

lot of teenagers already do ride the buses

just be ware of your surronding and do not get absored

in listening to your MP3 player/IPod

Not really. If something happens the driver isn't gonna just sit there and watch.

it can be, depending on where in town you are, what time it is (late), how many people (witnesses) are around, how well you know the buses and your immediate area, and overall, how safe you feel.
