Is taking amitriptyline at 12 strange?

I'm 12 and take 10mg at night for depression but some times i take 5 and no one knows

  1. if you need to take it then its not strange because its helping you. but take the dose you have been prescribed otherwise it may not do its job properly


  2. amitriptyline is a mild antidepressant. there is nothing strange about taking it if it has been prescribed to you, however do not abuse your medication by tasking more than the recommended amount as it could mess you up.

  5. why the h**l do you sometimes take too many?  That will not do you any good at all

  6. An overdose on amitriptyline can be fatal. High doses of this and other trcicyclic antidepressants can cause abnormal heart rhythm which is the usual cause of death in such cases. So be careful.
