  1. before you take it ring and make sure the restaurant allows it alot don't because they make their money by pricing up their own and get commissions on the amount they sell, if they do they will charge a huge corkage fee some times up to $10 per person,a few will though and their are plenty of byo restraunts

  2. h**l no! why should you pay 3 times the price for beers if you can get it from the bottle shop and take it with you! For what you save on alcohol you can spend on better food.

  3. If it is a BYO resturant than it is totally acceptable.  You will pay a 'corkage' fee though - and that can be rather steep.

If the venue is not BYO then you will not be able to consume your own drinks due to liquor licensing laws.

  4. It's not if that's the way the restaurant goes. I have been to a byo restaurant and taken my own alcohol.

  5. No, its sensible, as you can choose from a wider range at much better proces.

Restaurants are generally a rip off. The difficulty is if you want to impress women then you have to spend money and byob isn't that cool.

  6. Not all restaurants have every type of wine known to man. You might have a preferred make, year, flavour that you would like to enjoy in preference to those on offer at a restaurant.

BYO is totally the way to go.

  7. no we do this all the time bello

  8. I can see by the previous answers it depends what country you live in and then the rules and guidlines of that restaurant

  9. No, most restaurants allow you to bring your own wine etc, but they still charge a "cork fee" for allowing you to have it with your dinner. It isn't poor form, some people are just accustomed to having their own kind of alcohol, and it is pretty common, especially in a lot of upscale restaurants.

  10. You cannot bring alcohol to a restaurant that serves it.  If its BYO, bring your own..
