  1. I have a Veiled Cham and and he's not too hard to care for.  You need really large screened cage.  I put plastic up on 3 sides to help hold in humidity, yet they need a lot of ventilation.  Heat bulbs and UVB lighting are a must.  You need a drip system...I use an IV bag with IV line hung above the cage and set to drip slowly.  Lots of plants and vines to climb on.  They eat insects and some plant matter.  Also mist the cage twice a day to help with humidity.  Most Chams do not do well with handling...they are mostly to look at.  I have other reptiles as well and don't find him too much trouble.

  2. Yemen chams are more expensive than hard to care for. They are pretty basic needs which just about anyone could pick up. If you have the money and time and want a cham get a yemen... you wont regret it

  3. if this is your first retile you will find a cham difficult to look after as you will have to learn to adjust te heat lamps, UV and humidity.  A good starter reptile is a gecko or bearded dragon as you will only need to get to grips with the UV and heat as they do not require humidity as they are desert creatures.

Cham's are rewarding but not as social as the reps mentioned above, making handling more difficult but not impossible as many cham's will be handled.  They also cannot see still water, they need a source of running water like a fountain or dripper.  These can help with the humidity too.

best of luck in your choices!
