  1. I've not taken a single college course in the past 12 months that didn't have some significant online component.  More than a few could have been done completely online.  Several were done completely online.

Online courses are here, they're going to be here, they're going to grow in importance.  Even Harvard and Oxford are teaching online now.

Just don't go into it thinking online = easy.  That will bite you in the as#.  Online courses are generally more difficult than the same class in the classroom.

And remember, those "managers" that went to college back in the 80's who think that the only way to get properly educated is at a frat party on campus will be retired pretty soon.  They're the least of your worries - learning things is what you need to worry about because your competition isn't going through college like the "Animal House" generation did - your competition is actually learning the material.

  3. Make sure that if you do take online classes that they are from a regionally accredited college. The most important thing is that they will transfer to another institution.

    One thing to consider though...

online college is incredibly expensive: somewhere between 300 and 400 PER CREDIT HOUR. not per class.

  4. ^^ You guys above aren't understanding the poster. He's not talking about an online college but an online course.

I've taken plenty of online courses at my college and they are no different then the courses offered at the college. I recommend taking them to everyone! Most professors create videos and use the same notes that they use at an on campus course. Also, think of all the gas money you will save! There is nothing wrong with online courses, it's the future. This is a fact.

  5. As a manager I would rather employee someone who has been in a class and learn than somebody that has taken a course over the internet. If you are going to go ahead and do an online course make sure that you read the terms and conditions.
