Is taylor made just as good as ping for woods?

In name they are equal, but more pros and better amateurs use TaylorMade.  In golf magazine testing, TaylorMade seem to score higher.

It only matters what feels comfortable during use

Name brands that are expensive are just status symbols for ordinary golfers

Better. Taylormade is the most used driver on the PGA tour, by far.

Overall, yes. But the key is which one is best for YOU. For some, that will be one of the Ping models. For others, the TaylorMade. You really should get fitted ... or at least go and try out a bunch of different makes and models.
