Question:

Is tea tree oil a good toner? ?

Right now I'm using 70% witch hazel-30% water.

But I heard tea tree oil is good for acne. I don't have bad acne but anything to prevent pimples is welcomed! lol

So is tea tree oil a good toner?

If so, where do I buy?

How much does it usually cost?

  1. you don't say how old you are (which can be relevant) but....

    1. tea tree is good for acne, but i wouldn't use it all over your face. I'd save it for dabbing on particular spots. Why? sensitivity to tea tree is not common but if you overuse it you can become allergic, so it's never a good idea to overuse any essential oil.

If you're young (say under 20); i'd use a good tea tree oil based face wash instead (eg Austrailian Bodycare which is fairly inexpensive for the quality of the ingredients); and just dab the pure oil on any spots

    2. I would ditch the witch hazel combo. It's really not doing anything for you and is quite harsh - stripping the skin too vigorously will only make it oilier and takes away you skin's natural defences to spot bacteria

Finally always buy your tea tree from a reputable company. Check that it says melaleuca alternifolia somewhere on the bottle. That's the latin name for the type of tea tree you want. There are dozens of types of 'tea tree' and that's the only one that has the theraputic effect you need

  2. trust me..tea tree oil works like a charm! it prevents and cures pimples in most cases! it costs about 5-20 dollars a bottle, depending on how big the bottle is....but send the money and try it out...you wont regret it!

you can obtain it at a local pharmacie

    hope i helped!! :)

  3. you can get loads of tea tree face stuff from the body shop which isnt expensive and is quite good :)
