  1. I teach in FL too (cool) and it is probably one of the lowest paying jobs with the highest demanding yields of time and effort output. In other words, you will never get paid for the time you spend.  But the rewards are those other than monetary, and you have to ask yourself if the benefits of teaching will outweigh the stress for you. Spend some time in a former teacher's, who may still remember you, classroom. Or take a class in college that requires you to have a practicum where you observe a class. You probably should do some research before deciding to major in education. If you have an inclination toward working with children and other people who have the same desires, and don't mind putting the extra heart and soul and time into making meaningful lessons that match the content standards, time that you often will not necessarily be 'paid' monetarily for, then teaching could be for you. I have loved it for 8 years. Those A-Ha moments when the 'lightbulb' goes on are so amazing and I can't think of a career field I would like better.

  2. no. dont teach.

  3. I teach in Florida and I love my job.  Teaching is a great career IF you love working with kids, doing a lot of work on your own time, and aren't expecting a lot of money.  I would sub/volunteer in different classes to see first hand what a teacher does and which age group you prefer.  Then decide if teaching is right for you.

  4. I teach in VA and it is the most rewarding profession there is.  But all teaching jobs in Ohio can't be that bad.  You just need to look around.  It's all about location.  The better the county, the better the school in most cases.  But if you have such a negative view of all teaching in your state, I suggest moving or changing career plans.

  5. I live in Ohio and I live in a high class town....teaching isnt bad here?
