to start a "new life"...I don't have a car, would need the first month's rent and a deposit, simple house things, and combined with my boyfriend's $8-7,000 would that be enough to move out?

  1. the best way is to make a budget and answer that for yourself. prices and cost of living is different everywhere. my advice is to sit down together and do the following.

make a list of all expenses you think you will have and be objective, such as:

house: rent, water, electrical, gas, food, furniture"craigslist.org", kitchenware, internet, cable, etc

car: insurance, gas, car payment, etc

personal: things for personal hygiene, gym, health insurance, etc

entertainment: figure you need to go out and entertain yourselves at least once a week otherwise you will not make it so consider, movies, gas to go there, maybe a bar, making a BBQ, etc, that part is very personal but you must make a budget.

the idea is for you to make a list of all the expenses you think you are going to have and break them down to a monthly expense. list as many things as you can think of and after you have a really big list then you start down sizing. then after you have a final total come up with a 30% margin of error and add it to it.

so if the total comes out to 2200 a month then add 660 on to it for safety.

and then you will see how much 10,000 will last you until you 2 get jobs to cover the expenses and still have money to save for the future.
