  1. That's no moon.... it's a space station....

  2. The Moon is not currently close to any planet or bright star. Maybe you are seeing an aircraft or satellite. Look again in a few minutes and see if the object is still there.

Edit: Those who say it's Jupiter are wrong. Jupiter is not close to the Moon at the moment.

  3. If a star is next to a moon the moon'll get "messed up." So planet is more likely.

  4. This question is impossible to answer without knowing what particular night you're talking about. That's because the Moon, in orbit around the Earth, moves about 12 degrees across the sky from night to night, so that what it's close to one night, it will be much farther away from the next. Tonight it's not particularly close to any bright star or planet.

  5. when?

Aug.20: there are no bright planets or stars near the Moon.

    A few days ago: Jupiter.

  6. Jupitor is by the moon look at it and see if there s any color to it if you have a telescope you can see its circle on the right bottom

  7. You're probably asking about the planet Jupiter.

  8. There are tons of stars next to the moon, and currently Uranus and Jupiter are fairly close to it. I believe you are referring to Jupiter though. Jupiter is the brightest object in the night sky, second to the moon.

  9. Any star U see is over 4 light years away ,but our own sun .
