  1. you might want to get a second opinion. putting you to sleep is serious. Not all dentists put you to sleep. The modern ones (like mine-recent grad) use nitrous gas to make you stay awake and not have a care in the world.

  2. I had all 4 of mine taken out without being put to sleep.

  3. yes I got mine done yesterday morning and i feel completely fine now. i didn't even take any percocet!  .. cuz my mom wouldnt let me lol =(

you aren't even completely  put to sleep usually. What they do is give you nitrous to calm you which really does work because I was very nervous. then they give you an IV with  a sedative. I got liquid valium yum! it was awesome. you feel this awesome  rush for like 5 secs then fall asleep.  I woke up after what seemed like  a second and It was all done.  It does hurt a little (it feels like you just got your braces tightened) the first day but I took some ibuprofen (like only 3 pills). that reduced the swelling and the pain. make sure to put ice on your face cause there is swelling.

good luck  and remember it really isn't as bad as you think. i was scared out of my wits but now I feel like it was pointless to be.  =)

  4. You will not be able to eat nearly anything for weeks.

You will suffer a big stress (4 teeth at the time is merciless act towards your organism)

If your teeth are not impacted, you shouldn´t extract at all.

General narcosis is ok only there where there is no alternative. It´s a heavy drug that should otherwise be avoided.

If you HAVE TO pull out teeth, do it ONE AT THE TIME.

Then it´s ok and safe. And you have nothing to be afraid of.

  5. This is done ALL the time, and they are the experts in doing this...Just trust them...it will be fine.....

don't listen to all the dopey stories here on YA!

  6. Yes it's ok.

  7. I work at a dental office. Watching many, many extractions(pulling teeth) I can assure you that it is not UNHEARD of but you will be sore, swollen at the area of extraction and a  little uncomfortable after the surgery. Just follow all post-op instructions and follow up with your dentist, you should be fine.....oh and don't worry they give you plenty of pain meds.....Good luck and don't worry.

  8. yea ur fine. I got my toungue pierced, then in that same week I had all four taken out and they did not put me to sleep. They just gave me shots to numb. What sucked was that no matter how many shots the guy would give me, one tooth was not going numb and I could feel EVERYTHING! finally i just told him to yank it out and he did, hurt a lil but nothing that would make me afraid of the dentist. I hear a lot of horror stories about the aftermath of getting ur wisdom teeth pulled but my experience was nothing like that. off course my mouth was sore but not to the point where i used the meds (i saved them for a rainy day.....haha druggie). The worst thing was not be able to eat solid food for a week and a half. The only downside to being put to sleep is that pple wake up really dizzy.

  9. It's fine to. Mine were impacted, and I had all 4 removed at once. They say it's better to get them all done at once, so it's all over with in one shot. How old are you? If you are younger you really shouldn't have much of an issue. I'm 25, so I had a little bit of trouble, it took me about 2 weeks to feel better, and then I had a little bit of a TMJ issue, but mine were really badly impacted, so you should be fine. It is scary, but you will be glad when it's all over with. I was so nervous and scared, but the day of I almost felt relief for it to be over with. The first few days are rough, but they give you pain medicines that will help. Good luck!! You'll be fine!!
