  1. If they're clueless about what to get, a smaller one (1 G card now costs, depending on what kind, about $20 or so) might be nice. I do have to say that the camera itself is a nice gift regardless of the cost.

  2. I pretty much agree with pooky. A digital camera is a nice gift and memory cards are fairly inexpensive now. The user could then pick out what to get.

It is true though, that alot of cameras won't work without a card. Check online or with a store and see if the camera has any internal memory. If you can afford it, you could always buy a gift card for about $10 and that would go to help buy the memory card. You wouldn't be paying all of it and the person could then pick out the card he/she wants.

  3. That depends on who you are purchasing the camera for. The camera of course is an excellent gift  and if it isn't a close family relative than it's okay to give the camera without a memory card. For one just the thought of giving them anything should be enough and for two the economy is so bad and everything is so expensive that you shouldn't worry about buying expensive gifts at all. But it's all up to you. I personally wouldn't worry about the memory card.

  4. It depends on what you can afford. I would want a memory card along with a camera. It just doesn't seem complete without it. The camera can only hold 25 pictures without the card.
